blood is liquid and solids, plasma is the liquid and platelets/white and red blood cells are the solids.

Arterial blood is red because the iron molecules in the hemoglobin react with the oxygen they carry.

Venal blood has a slightly blueish/purplish hue because it contains less oxygen after it has been delivered throughout the body.

Blood is red whether inside the body or outside, as it reacts with the oxygen upon contact, and inside the body it moves oxygen anyway.

Hopefully it's less than a few %, and definitely less than .08% when driving.

O+ but on the list of inelligble donors,

    Can you say Prions?
Can You say Bovine Spongiform Encephalitis?
Can You say Mad Cow Disease?

Oh I used to donate blood, but now the Red Cross doesn't want it even for scientific studies. Well back to diluting my blood with Castle Knappogue.
