You would be VERY hard pressed to find anything said negative about SWK. The standard kilts are amazing for their price and Jerry is always a pleasure to work with. I love my SWKs.

That was actually going to be my exact comment. The standards are great... the heavyweights are your next drastic step up the ladder.

My signature has two links in it- the first is to the organization I consider home, where I was trained and where I do most of my work. The second is to my wrestling-specific myspace.
Are the wool heavyweights really the same leap as the shift up to the standards? If so, I may have to have one by christmas.

...in the world of professional wrestling the term "gigging" refers to bleeding profusely...
Yikes! Bleeding is usually avoidable during a performance (string incidents, or over-blowing excluded), but every once in a blue moon there's the odd event with an audience member... Goes with the territory.

Well, yes and no
As I have 1 each of all SWK models, I can tell you that yes, the leap from thrifty/economy to a standard is HUGE
Now, the difference between standards and their heavy weights (wool) is not all that big. The only real difference is the weight and material, but the cut, tailoring and construction is exactly the same.
The bigger diference from either standard or heavy weight SWK will be to get a tailored/custom measured kilt. You know, made to your dimensions.
Enjoy your standard!

The wool kilts are fantastic. Yeah, I think they are a drastic step up. I won't be buying another standard, or another Sport Kilt, but I will be buying more heavyweights. I really want a saffron...
And watch for me to make a friend request on MySpace! My name there is Colorado Celtic.

Keep in mind that the weight and fabric type is a huge difference in itself.\
I don't have a problem with the acrylic as acrylic. It's soft and fluffy and feels like an acrylic sweater. It would be great if they could make it a tighter heavier weave, but it is what it is.
The wool is a whole different beast and you will know when you strap it on. Still, it is a contemperary mass produced kilt, and probably should not be compared
to a tank's quality. They each have their place in kilt wearing.
You'll probably find the same sort of levels in accessories, so get used to it.

I recently got a heavyweight saffron. It's great. I only wish Jerry would do a heavyweight in the Nightstalker tartan
