Dude, I marched in the same parade (it was my second, I play in the Drum Corps)! I'll post my own pics when I get a chance to download them.

If you're going to be marching in a lot of parades, it's worth the money to get a good pair of ghillie brogues. The pair I bought cost me $120, but I have never had a blister or a red spot on my feet. It also helps to buy a pair that's big enough to wear a pair of lightweight sneaker socks _under_ your kilt hose. Provides cushioning for your feet, and your kilt hose won't wear out as fast in the toes or heels.

Like Barb said, good marching ghillies are worth every penny. Trust me, I've done parades and the like wearing a drum, and you seriously want nice shoes giving you solid footing.
