As I said in the original post, I am very happy with how this turned out.
MORE importantly, my wife is happy with it.
I will be vending at a Scottish Festival next month, I hope to have mine done by then so we can wear matching kilts to the event.

Lovely! I really fancy tweed kilts, although to be correct, you made for her a kilted skirt, not a man's KILT.

Thank you, and you are correct, it is a kilted skirt.
It was made to the length she wanted it, and notice the apron wraps right side over left.
