"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

I don't usually take photos when I'm just out and about, but here are some photos me in the kilt as "clothing not costume."
Hiking the M Trail here in Missoula with my wife
Off to our local production of The Nutcracker (As I recall it was about minus 20 F!)
Hiking another trail just outside of Missoula
Great idea for a thread! It made me realize that I wear a kilt a lot more often than I get out the camera.

A week or two ago, at work, on stage at the Lucas Theatre.
In the lobby of the Lucas, getting ready for a baseball movie / minor league game co-promotion with our local A-Ball team:
At work on Tartan Day last April, in front of the Lucas:
And, leading our 4th of July procession down to River Street for the fireworks:

I get the idea, but unless I'm wearing a kilt as part of a costume for something like a Renfaire or Dickens, it is regular clothing. I don't consider games or Burns suppers a "costumed event".
OK, here goes,
Here I am at a Transportation conference.
A luncheon with my wife.
On a cruise ship.
and on a mountain in Colorado.

Oops--can't forget this one:
Me kilted at Carnegie Hall on my last birthday:
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus.
