My tent was part of this row. Membership with the Donnachaidhs and Gordon who were adjacent made the tents one big one.

Balladeer Davy Simmons entertained us royally!

It was time for a walkabout. Stopping by the Elliott tent Sir William offered another Islay favorite, a Bowman 18 yo.

The crowds had taken over vendor row

Dropping by the re-enactor area Gerry was going over the finer points of sword play.

This display of belting on the plaid, I thought made it look harder than it really is ….. (IMHO)

Each day we had a Clan Parade. Which was fruitful for our Society, as each day someone came to the tent after hearing MacCallum Malcolm Clan announced.

Stacy Horton below had heard the announcement the MacCallum-Malcolms are here. Her Mom is a Malcolm.

Her friend Casey is of Scottish descent and knows well his ancestry which is concentrated in the Argyll.

XMarker Mac Saorsa (Paul Brown) with his family would be my last visitor for the day. I hope to see they again and spend more time with them at the Williamsburg Scottish Festival.

It was a great weekend! Many thanks to all of those involved in offering it. It was a successful time for the Clan MacCallum Malcolm Society. It was great fun for me! Special thanks to John (SVC40bt) for helping me break down the tent.

Hope some of the other Xmarkers can add there pix here.

A fabulous set of pictures. Ern, you really have given us a really comprehensive view of the games and of the people you met over the weekend. I have to say though that some of those cabers look rather hollow compared to the ones which are thrown in Scotland .

    Alex,

Those "hollow" cabers are our secret weapon. We lure in innocent children with easy to throw cabers then gradually sneak in heavier ones until they can throw a full sized caber like it was a mere toothpick!

Our heavies were trying to throw a caber weighing 12st 12lb without much success. I never saw so many attempts fail to flip over. At least none of them fell on the judge's tent like I saw some years ago.

Great pix, thanks for sharing them. What a lot of X-Markers you've got at your games. I think I found four when I was at ours on Saturday.
