That is one fine tartan, CMcG. It almost makes me wish I had some Irish blood to justify wearing it!

I respect anyone's creative efforts. Takes b@lls to throw ones' creativity to the masses...so congrats! I can count on one hand how many things I've done that reasonable people would consider creatively worthwhile.
That being said, the tartan is a tad "dressy" for me. To much white for me. Looks like the lassies could be dancing in it.

For Canuck NI...all is forgiven!! I can appreciate your frustration. But, you really do have to admit, Colin has a very nice tartan here.

update
Now that the New World Irish tartan is registered, the next step is to get it woven.
First, I'm playing around with the settings on my image software and printer to try and get a print-out that looks right. Barring success with that, I might need to go to a fabric store and get some swatches for the weaver to colour match with.
Any suggestions on the best way to proceed with ensuring this tartan looks right would be most welcome!

in the hands of the weaver
Finalizing the colours of the New World Irish tartan was a bit tricky. I ended up getting some of the colours to look right with a printout and some of them I had to match using pieces of actual fabric.
Mark updated me this morning that he has sent the colour match info to the weaver and now I can start jonesing. It should take at least two months for the fabric to be woven... maybe more if they don't have the exact colours I selected in stock.

Well done, sir. I will expect you to be wearing a kilt in that tartan the next time you show up in Edmonton, and to arrange to meet for beer at O'Byrne's...

I'll be back that way the week before Xmas and it would be awesome if the kilt was ready then I don't want to get my hope up though
Either way, we should arrange a kilt night at O'Byrnes...
