Yes I did post photos such as this one of the statue. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...70/index6.html
It's one of those horrible dilemmas that perhaps the couple should have been more sensitive about when deciding upon their wedding venue. It's not a state occasion and she is not officially royal but although it's a "private" occasion it will be attended by public figures who require a degree of guarding and protection.
But why it should require as much police participation as the Pope's visit is beyond me.

There might have been more chance of some "kilties" at the wedding of the couple who were elbowed out to make way for the Royals on that day.
I'm betting Jock gets the royal invite.

Jackie Stewart obviously goes to the same outfitter as "Shir Shaun", a tartan tie and I've never seen hose like them. They must have seen him coming and fobbed him off with a pair they made a mess of.

No not at all Phil. There were a few kilts on parade and I am not the least bit surprised that the "no kilt worn below the Highland line" mentality was shown by morning dress being the common male attire by those that could have worn the kilt.
Sir Jackie Stewart's outfit does seem to be a little hard on the eye!

Her Majesty also had her personal Piper there to pipe the Bride and guests as they arrived at the church and as they left the ceremony. He was not seen on TV, I don't think, but certainly heard on the broadcast.

On our local news hear in the Antipodes, we saw Sir Jackie Stewart and his wife leaving the church, not far behind him was a gentleman in a pair of trews, unfortunately his top half was obscured.
