Nice variation on the PC theme. Very well done!

    Talking Re: DIY Formal Jacket

Thanks everyone! I'm pleased with the way it came out.
And for the 2 or 3 times per year I might wear it, I'm happy about the 60 dollar or so investment.

Are the sides of the tails buttoned "open" to reveal the "inside" of them? That's what it looks like to me, which is really cool.

As Hank Hill would say, "Yep."

    Re: DIY Formal Jacket

Very nice job! I really like how you made it unique too. The cuffs are very sharp and I like how you did the back. Looks great on you.

Been wanting to do one myself and just picked up a tailed tux jacket last week at the thrift store, but in my excitement about finding one that fit, I didn't inspect it in the store. Once home, I found all kinds of small holes in it. It'll do for a practice run, but just isn't suitable to ever wear.

Yes, a little nod to the military jackets these styles evolved from.

I like it too Zardoz. Well done!

I can't tell from the photo, do the buttoned open parts on the tails have facing material shining out or are they the same material as the outside of the jacket?

IMHO, that looks way nicer than a PC. The streamlined look is formal and classic, but also individual. Nice work!

Same material as the outside, kept it simple!
