Re: Modern kilt + creepers. Yay or Nay?
I wouldn't wear them with any of my contemporary kilts. Not a good match for the utility style kilt in my opinion. The tern fugly comes to mind.

The only thing those would go with is celibacy. Cause and effect.

My uncle grew up with one leg about 2" shorter than the other.
Until he had surgery to correct it, these were the kind of shoes he wore.

Ahhh creepers!! That takes me back to high school and jr. high days, just throw in some Drakkar Noir and you have every boy I ever danced with in Jr. High... so I have a fondness for them.
I actually looked for patent pointed toe Doc Martens to wear, but couldn't find any. Then I started to have flashbacks of the black and white striped tights.
Well, I guess if I wore grunge once, and can't really get away with it again.
Remember "Monkey Boots"? Those would also work well with modern kilts. Actually I like "punk" footwear with trad kilts too.

The only shoes I ever heard referred to as brothel creepers, were desert boots. That was in the 1960's - 70's. Those shoes look more to be clunkers.

I like "better" even if it's merely a jump from "loathsome" to "mildly disgusting," though I fear what it says about your judgement...

My idea of a pair of Brothel Creepers would be a pair of mocassins--or is that a tepee creeper? I guess I'd be more comfortable in something a little less substantial, but what do I know?
