Not for me, I'm afraid. I'd like to have a tartan waistcoat but a tartan jacket is not my thing. Some people do carry them off rather well though. This is the fist tartan PC that I've seen.

Not for me, but at least it's a more subdued tartan (a bright tartan like Buchanan or MacLeod of Lewis would be eye-popping). I think it could probably be paired with a matching kilt (though getting the various vertical stripes to even come close to lining up might be difficult), a black/navy blue kilt (as previously suggested), or perhaps regular tuxedo slacks (maybe cut like trews?).

I'd hate to have to make this jacket, but I think you could wear it to great effect, maybe with a yellow shirt, or even red. Since the jacket itself is already "non-trad", trying to pair it with "trad" shirt color (white) just wouldn't cut the mustard, methinks.

Not for those who like to go unnoticed. The tartan just looks out of place on a P.C. Although, as noted, it could work with a solid kilt and vest, but you would still be the odd man out.

I think it's simply too much and far too busy.
