I'd have to be an ornery young goat... I've always been different, and when I've tried to fit in, I've found myself to be unhappy. So, if goats go to hell, I'm headed in that direction... Let the sheep go to heaven...

I'm not necessarily a free spirit, but I do have a healthy curiosity. I'm not afraid to investigate or ask questions about things I find interesting. Kilts happens to be one of them. What a shame I didn't persue it sooner. All those years spent in ignorant bliss. Time to make up for it!

The chicken came first, God created it on the 5th day of creation week (Gen.1:21).
I have bucked the trends
a good portion of my life.
I'm with Nelson on this one, that describes me in many ways.
I will go with traditional and modern trends if I think they are good and true.
If they are questionable (like the wearing of trousers) I reject them.

I've mever been one to follow fashion trends and have always been slightly off the wall, maybe a little eccentric. Friends think I'm a little odd (I probably am!!) in that I can be a little non conformist in how I behave, what I wear etc.
The kilt is an extension of me wanting to be an individual, rather than just part of the crowd.

Sorry, I just think of myself as your average, run of the mill normal person.

Robbie, if you're the only average person in this forum, then by our standards, you're anything but average.
As for me, I'd like to be a free spirit, when work, taxes, and other responsibilities don't get in the way. The kilt certainly adds to that feeling of freedom.

I've never met you, Robbie, but from your posts I don't think you're Mr Average at all. You come across as a strong willed individual, very certain of your views and opinions. I sense you to be a very confident person and a man of business.
The fact that you routinely wear your kilts marks you out as a very confident and extra ordinary person in my book - even though you are a Scot and it should be perfectly 'normal' to do this.
You are also here, with us, at XMARKS.., offering advice and support. I don't see many other Scots doing that here.

Excellent points Al!
I agree wholeheartedly.
It's funny to me how the
folks who are so far above average
somehow think less of themselves. I see it
often in this world. Take it from
us Robbie, average your not.

Flattery gets you everywhere! No, I'm sorry but I still disagree. I work mostly in an office 9-5, go out with family/friends at night and weekends, watch tv, go on family holidays etc etc - all the things ordinary normal people do. Strong-willed (pig-headed/stubborn) and reasonably confident I will admit to, but simply always wearing a kilt does not make me "different" - I see kilts as normal wear and sometimes wonder whether this perception some have of kilt-wearing/kilt-wearers being somehow "different" is the principal obstacle nowadays to its wider use.
