    Are we...

    Greetings Lads,

I am pondering a question, are we free spirits because we wear kilts, or are we kilted because we are free spirits? I can tell that we all have an independent streak in us just by reading the posts, but I just want to know what you independent , free spirited, kilted guys think?

I am kilted because I am a free spirit. I am so free that you can't buy me.

I'm beyond free spirit. I'm an ornery old goat that has no regard for the "norm" and I don't give two hoots what anyone likes (with the exception of my wife, who I have to live with). I refuse to be a herd animal. Add to that that kilts are much more comfortable than trousers and comfort is much more important to me than what some cultural clone thinks.

I just figure I'm ahead of the curve. Things that attract me frequently become popular about 18 months after I take them up. (I wish I could take credit but I know it's just a coincidence) As to being a free spirit...my family says I was born an old foggey. Is it even possible to be an old foggey and a free spirit simultaneously?

I have been facinated with the kilt and all that goes with it since I was young.

The fact that I now own 2 with another on order, seems to indicate that I now have a comfort level with myself and the kilt.

Or maybe it's a bit like Bubba. I'm now old enough and tough enough to do as I wish and tell those that don't like it to get their own house in order.

What ever the reality is, kilts are comfortable and I hope they will gain more acceptance and be worn by more men.

As far as "free thinker" goes, I draw your attention to my signature.

Definitely a free spirit before I was
a kilt wearer. I have bucked the trends
a good portion of my life.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Same kind of question. I guess it could go either way

The egg came first. Birds evolved from dinosaurs, which layed eggs.

As for myself, I had a personality before I started wearing kilts.

The Kilt is a big add-on to the personality. Free spirit from the get go, the Kilt just makes it that much better.
