I'd say, be slow to "pass judgement" on something like..."they attended the Folsom Street Fair, therefore they must be ~~insert whatever, here ~~". I'm no kinkster, but if I happened to have the time available, and nothing else on the calendar, I'd go. What the heck, you know? Besides, the beer is plentiful and affordable, generally speaking the people are friendly, and it's in a relatively warm area of downtown San Francisco ( I know that's an oxymoron). And finally, just because someone attends the Folsom Street Faire doesn't mean that they're into whips and chains or anything else. It might just mean that they're tourists in San Francisco that day.
AND... the Utilikilt Booth does apparently do a booming business that day. So does Ravenswood leather, which makes "leather" stuff.... like this:
I know someone, an entirely respectable lass that you'd all "approve of" who got married in a white version of that dress. She bought it after seeing a different colored-version at.........the Folsom Street Faire.
