However, instead of pulling it up and across the front of your chest, it would look much better to pull up the length in back and pin it to your left shoulder,
You mean like this?

I agree. That looks very nice and stylish.

Matt, are you actually pinning that to the jacket, or does the broach pin run under an epaulet on the jacket?

Belted Plaid everyday
I saw the posts about the great kilt / Belted Plaid and I thought you might like to see a photo of my friend Micheal O'Brien a traditional bookbinder in Oamaru's historic area ( located in the South Island of New Zealand ) who wears a belted plaid everyday ( yes that's right everyday ) . As he runs his own business he can wear whatever he likes so he wears the belted Plaid to work. There are quite a few kilt wearers in Oamaru so if you ever make it to Middle Earth check it out.

No, there is a hidden safety pin holding the plaid to the jacket from the underside.

Folks, this only looks good because Matt is standing in front of the bookshelf cut on the bias.

Does the plaid hanging off the shoulder "pull" on the shoulder of the jacket, making it "cata-wompt" (it did last time I tried)?
I have it in front, as to "relieve" the pulling.
Any tips on attaching the upper portion of the plaid to clothing?

Is that sword the recently released Albion Chieftain?!
