What I do is lay one hose on top of the other (one pair), fold them in half, wrap the elastic of the flash around the hose and connect it. This keeps the flashes and its elastic from wrinkling.

A couple possibilities come to mind...mind you, I haven't tried any of these yet, my flashes are still wandering around loose.

Storage – Loop the flashes as they’d be when you normally wear them and…
    1. Hang them on a rotating tie rack.
    2. Display them on a peg board in the closet.

Packing – unloop the flashes and fold the elastic over.
    1. Place the flashes in the pockets of the shirts you pack (providing they’ll lay flat).
    2. Use that old underwear you never wear anymore and fold it into a square with the flashes inside. When you put this into the suitcase, place it between shirts that lay flat or, if you must, in the folds of trouser legs.
    3. Put some Velcro in a file folder and fasten the flashes in there and pack with your computer.

I'm working on a peg board thingy right now, with golf tees as pegs. If it works, then I'll look for something more permanent.

Traveling isn't much of a problem, as I only carry enough to match the kilts and hose that I'm traveling with..... It's at home that they seem to get messed up.

Also toying with the idea of those big black heavy paper clips??

I'm a zip lock bag guy too. Came to that after lots of "Flash Wrangling" in the sock drawer. With so many kilts wound up with a LOT of flashes, both tartan and solid.

My current solution is to put a 4x6" Index Card in a zip lock bag, then add a single pair of flashes to the bag.

If the flashes are tartan then they hang from the same hanger as the matching kilt, clipped to one of the hanger clips.

Solid color flashes are individually bagged and in the sock drawer.

When I travel, my kilts go in a garment bag. Flashes are either hanging from the hanger clip in the zip lock bag or tossed (still bagged) in the bottom of the garment bag.

Individual bagging has helped me a lot. Much easier to handle without the velco ones turning into a briar patch, both flashes stay together, no strays, and the index card in the bag with them keeps them from getting smushed up.

    Works for me,

    Ron

I keep mine in a recycled cigar box on a shelf in the closet housing my kilts.

I have Cardboard thats been wrapped in Blue Fabric Duct Tape. I lay each pair of them on the card, using the Velcro to keep them together. I than place the next pair on the card on top with the top of the flashings at the bottom of the card underneath (so its on top of the bottom of the flashings. I than rubber band them all together and place them in my dress sporran. So that it keeps it open so it so it can than lie flat in my closet shelf on top of my other sporran that has all my kilt pins in it.

I store mine in a bag that houses my kilt accessories. The flashes (I have several....red knit, green knit, Ross weathered hunting tartan 100 % wool and now Irish National tartan.) are ok. I won't store the Irish National there since they are too stiff and would crease.

the knit simply hang out once I have them on an the same with the Ross.
