Hello and a warm from Boston, Massachusetts
Which model SWK? what tartan? and have you ordered a skirt or sash in the same tartan? Nothing beats having a supportive spouse. Christopher is one lucky man. Ye Rabble Loves Pictures! If possible of both of you in tartan would be grand.

Thanks, Kiltman! I'm excited about this, too -- you'd think I was the one getting the kilt heheheh! I've already asked him if he would ever try to wear it to work, but they made him cut his hair (*cries* we loved his hair longer, even though it honestly wasn't that long), so I doubt they'd let him wear it to work. I keep asking him where else he'd wear it, besides the minute he got home, I mean.
Hello and thanks, SteveB! I guess I should have mentioned a little more detail about the SWK, I knew I forgot something. He's getting the Standard in the Black Stewart tartan. We thought it would be a great start to his collection. He almost got the Economy, but then we'd be wanting to try to sew the fell down (I think that's the correct term, yes?). We decided that the Standard would be a better start since the price was so nice.
I'm not sure about me with a sash in that tartan. It's nice, but I have my eyes on other tartans for myself down the line (kilted mini-skirts, etc). My last name is Griffith (I kept my last name), and I found the Griffiths tartan and thought that was so cool. I've been getting into genealogy again after another long break from getting frustrated. Recently I discovered through a few other folks I found online researching similar lines, that I possibly have McNeill on my father's side. I've got a bit of interest in that line now and would love to look into it more if I can find the information. I never even knew about them, so it's quite exciting to find out and I wonder where they're from. My father always said there was some Irish, but now I'm starting to wonder where else our family came from and if the Irish part is even true (I haven't been able to find that out for sure yet).
My husband has a lot of Swedish/Danish (his last name is Gronlund) and Italian. There is supposedly some Scottish, but he's been having some trouble researching his family as well. We're both starting to get interested in genealogy again, so we're hoping there might be some more excuses to look into more tartans.
So he's mainly looking at fashion tartans, and I'm just trying to let him get a few inexpensive kilts first until I can look into my genealogy and tartans. He has asked me if it's common enough for the husband to wear tartans associated with a wife's family names (he has told me he thought the Griffiths tartan was nice, and he's seen the McNeill tartans).
Until then, I've also been drooling over the Texas Bluebonnet tartan.

Welcome from South Texas. Be warned, SWK are gateway kilts. More will follow and when completely addicted will require a Tank to wear. If ya'll ever get down to San Antonio give me a holler.

Tony

Thanks, TheSp8! I'm already wanting to purchase another SWK and other accessories for my husband, but we need to behave I guess. Isn't he the one that's supposed to be going crazy over this stuff? Heheheh. I can't wait to see how he is when he finally gets his kilt. I'm sure he'll be wanting more (I certainly hope so!).
We'll let you know if we ever head down that way, we've definitely wanted to take a trip to San Antonio sometime.
Best wishes, and thanks for the reply
