I have to add, after seeing the thread title again (Ah-Roo!), that you have stoked a memory from my childhood. We used to have a beagle/smooth fox terrier mix named Spot when I was a kid, and "Ah-Roo-roo-roo-rooooo" was exactly how she used to greet my father every day on his return home from work.

I've got a corgi-beagle mix, and she's quite fond of an "Ah-roo-roo-roooo."

One of her many nicknames is Nosey Business. She's always puttin' that "snoot" somewhere.
