What a great looking jacket! If we all could be that lucky. Hopefully get to see some picts of it when it arrives.

Absolutely.
Incidentally, what sort of tie might one wear with a tweed jacket and kilt? I was thinking it would either have to be solid or regimental.
Any thoughts?

Your thoughts are right on. If you're not connected to a regiment, I'd recommend a solid wool tie in one of the main colors of your kilt.

Pardon my French, but holy crap!
I got home from work today and there was only one thing in the mailbox - a postcard notice from the postal delivery woman. There was a package waiting for me at the post office which I had to sign for per it was International Express Mail.
I started hopping about and grabbed the keys and grabbed the wife and jumped in the car to drive to the post office (open until 6:30!).
We made it to the post office in a matter of minutes, but the postal worker behind the desk must have KNOWN what I was there for, because she gave me a hard time. I pulled a number from the little ticket thing and read it. It said #67.
I looked at the red counter over the postal worker's head and it said 60. She looks at me and says, "61?"
I look around and nobody steps forward.
"62?"
Nothing.
"63?"
I start tapping my foot.
"64?"
I begin to hop up and down as quietly as possible.
"65?"
"Oh, come on! I'm the ONLY ONE in the post office besides you, ma'am!"
She smiles and says, "Ok, son, what number are you?"
"I'm number 67," I replied with frustration.
"Well, we're almost there, then, aren't we?"
"... 66?"
Off in the corner, by the shipping boxes, I can hear a cricket chirping.
"..."
"Ok... 67?"
FINALLY!
Signed for the package, skipped to the car (ask the wife), and opened the package to admire the new jacket before I even sat down.
Got home and threw on the kilt to take some piccies and show it off.

Oh, here's one with a good shot of the Xmarks kilt pin!

I need to find a good wool tie and possibly a waistcoat (solid color, probably to match the tartan) next, but I'm quite happy with the end result so far! It fit me just about perfectly - the shoulders have just the right drop and the back lays down nicely.
The youngest cat saw piccies were being taken and she hates to be left out, so...

Cheers,
