Ghilies on the way!

No, it's true. It is an old Scottish curse that Chiefs heap on impatient clansmen. The Ghillies names are Angus and George, they reek of peat, fish, Rattray's No. 7, stale McEwan's, and they will demand full wages, plus feeding. I bet you just can't wait for the package to arrive.

I was only joking.

No, it's true as Rathdown says, Tommy. Hunterson has also been collecting worn brogues (the ghillie kind) to send on with Angus and George. Usually she provides them with a pair each for travel, a slightly better pair (without sole holes) for going to kirk, and two pair of the better sort for her clansman.

One of my favorite hotels in Scotland, Mackay's in Wick, sent me a big Christmas advertisment last year. It was dated Dec 12th or so.
I got it mid-April.
So, maybe wait another month.

So, Tommy, have you heard from your chief yet?

Not yet. I'm sure I will soon.
I have offered to look after this Hunter Forum which is going to seed. http://www.clanhunter.info/forum/default.asp Spammers are hitting it and one is posting porn. It's very embarassing. I've written to everyone I can find who might be able to help but no luck so far.

Gee Tommy, you're right-- the Clan Hunter forum is dreadful... I hope they take up your offer to look after it.

I'd be more than happy to do it.

Tommy, may I suggest you wait until you are an acknowledged member of the Clan Hunter Association and folks involved understand your sincerity and good will a bit better? They are volunteers, too, and although their best is not yours, they have done what they could. The next generation will eventually take over and do it differently (don't ever say better!). Keep in mind that this is not for now but for the future. They (and you) are just cogs in the wheels of time.
I think, Rathdown, you will agree?
