This is also a tartan which works very well with Navy Blue accessories like hose or even jackets/vests, ties, etc, as there is a prominent navy strip in the mix as well.

OC Richard, Ron & Forrester Modern...

I am not sure if I should thank you for excellent suggestions or blame you for tempting me toward more kilt stuff addiction!

Seriously, OC...I have a charcoal color Crail jacket and waistcoat, think I will try them with the IOS kilt for a formal gathering next week. BTW, will you be at the Long Beach highland event? My wife and I have never been to that, but we are planning to go in February.

Ron & Forrester, that does look smashing. If I get any bonus this year, purple hose are in order.

Yes I nearly always am at the Queen Mary Highland Games in Long Beach whether or not the pipe band is competing there. (It comes at an awkward time for bands, when they are in the middle of learning the new tunes for the coming summer Games...so bands can either trot out their new sets before they're ready, and face potential disaster, or at the last minute try to resurrect last year's half-forgotten sets, and face potential disaster...)

Well, if I am going to catch hell for bringing on temptation here is another option which looks grand with the IoS and which I wear for casual events:

That's me 2nd from right weating Hawick's Thistle Motif Topped cream hose---these are not the usual thistle motif hose whose motif is about an inch across. Instead the motif is about two inches high and three inches across and there are three of them wrapped around and woven into the turnover of the kilt hose. Available at Scotweb and Keltoi--both sponsors and advertisers on the forum

Okay, NOW you can be mad at me. Just be glad I did not post any pics of me wearing the handknit cable hose I picked up in a purple heather color at the Strathmore Games last year---those are even MORE expensive and tempting, but another time perhaps.

Yup, and he goes with just about everything I am ever wearing, and becasue of that he is in a lot of my pictures. Thank you for your kind compliment. I have a feeling that this forum may be seeing a lot of him growing up over the next few years.
