I'm guessing that you've had your kilt for some time now, last i heard the atholl brose was no longer in buisness? the only kilt shop i know of in Mass now is Celtic Isles in Westford. either way i have nothing to add from what has already been said, but i would like to see the pleats! wouldnt mind seeing the sgian either

Re: Critique, if you please...
I think your outfit looks just fine. My only critique would be to try out some other hose colors. There are a lot of colors that would look great with that tartan and add more interest than the simple ecru hose you are wearing. Lovat blue is a definite good color!
However, about the kilt itself, it is obvious that it does not fit. Your post about loosing 50 lbs recently explains that (I was wondering if it came that way from the maker). I would definitely suggest having the kilt altered to fit your new size. With a well fitting kilt, you'd look smashing!

I would look into the front apron and the inverted pleat. It looks like the inverted pleat is really small and it does not allow the front apron to sit properly.

I sincerely think you look fabulous. Thats a really beautiful tartan. I didnt notice the jacket until someone else said something, but now that they did, perhaps I can see how it could look a tad too small. You truly do look great, though.

RayMc: Everything the Rabble identified is spot-on, so I won't repeat... except once - Lovat hose would look awesome! You wear the 'uniform' well and that is a VERY HANDSOME tartan. Great thing about the more complex tartans - matching or contrasting color combinations are virtually endless.

Hey Ray, I'd just straighten the tie, maybe pull the sleeves up inside the coat and put on a bigger smile. Other adjustments would be fun to experiment with but you got a look there.
What was the event you attended when the photo was taken?

It was in early November in at the Westford Regency in Westford, MA. Each year I hold our Clan Mackintosh Heritage Brunch there.

As a Macpherson, and a staunch supporter of the Clan Chattan Confederation, I love the tartan you chose-very smart indeed!

Here's my friend, and fellow Macpherson cousin, Bruce Macpherson of London, wearing his Chattan tartan (woven by D.C. Dalgliesh in standard colours) at a ball a couple of years ago. His sporran is a full-mask, Scottish Wildcat. Very smart indeed!

Cheers,
