    length question

I have just ordered my first Pittsburgh kilt, but I have a question about length. When I bought my first UK, I measured, and found my length to be 21.5 inches. Because they had a 23" in stock, I bought that instead figuring that I could get it chopped. When It came, I found it to be the perfect length.

So to date, I have 8 UK's and all are 23 " and that is the correct length. So, anyone out there that can give me a comparison to UK length VS PK length would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I ordered the 22" because that is what the yardstick test says, I'm just a little afraid that it will be too short.

Adam, I think you can just tell Jeff the length you want. He's not a factory (yet).

Just got in my PK Arizona Flag kilt...its beautiful!! Jeff posted pictures of it on his website, take a look.

Point is with the custom guys like Jeff, Steve at Freedom Kilts, and Bear you can ask for what you want and get it.

You can even do little things, like I was able to buy a tan sporran from Jeff at PK and from Mike at AmeriKilts without buying the whole kilt to go with it. The tan provides a nice contrast to many of my kilts when I don't want a matching sporran look.

    Ask for what you want.

I am trying to find out what size is right (to the middle of the knee) not what I want. Have you ordered the PK in the same length as the UK, and does it hit you in the same spot, or is one longer/shorter? My measure ment based on the web site seems to indicate that I need a shorter PK than I know I wear in a UK, but then I've been ordering longer UK's that their sizing suggests I need because they hit me in the proper place.

If it were just based on length alone, I would go with the same as the UK's I have, but UK does not take a hip measurement, and that may factor in where the length causes it to fall.

I wear my kilts under my belly (see gallery pics) without any beer belly cut.

I have a UK Workman and a UK original, both are 21 1/2" from top of waist to hem (UK's short).

I have two PK MARPATS, both are 21 1/2" from top of waist to hem.

Same for me...think I gave Jeff at PK the length and he hit it exactly.

    Hope that helps,
