My wife kept telling me to get a kilt to go with the pipes (she bought my first set of pipes for me)
We have a, well, big difference of opinion though on colors, etc so I picked the tartan. She even tells me I need a casual kilt to wear more often, so I dont have to worry about the 8 yd worsted.
She has no problem with being seen with me in a kilt, though I do ask for her hose/shirt opinion.

Love kilted men I think they are just sexy.Took my 10 year old to hoghland games and shes like wow they look so cute in kilts......following momas footsteps I guess.If I had a proud Scot man Id never fuss if he wore his kilt.

We've had a conversation about the difference, but it may just take her more time. Although, she thinks I'm kinda weird and eccentric anyway, so she usually just shakes her head and ignores me.

So it's the tartan that she objects to? Have you ever tried wearing a contemporary (like a UK) around them? I'll bet they'd be just as uneasy.

While I am not married my fiancee absolutely loves me in a kilt. I wear a kilt almost everyday. We go out to eat and to the store and anywhere and I stay kilted. I truly do have a good life and soon a good wife.

When searching for a mate I had a bio up on a "Match/singles web site".
I made sure I had one photo of me kilted. and just a sentence about my kilt wearing.
this left no doubt that any match would know in advance of my kilts.
It worked, my girlfriend loves the kilt.
I often wonder if i had taken up kilts well into a relationship how the transition would have been for some past girlfriends.

My wife bought my three UKs, I'm kilted any time I don't expect to need to "rassle" one of "my" kids at work or I'm not doing obedience classes for the local big box pet store (where women can't wear skirts, either). She's resistant to my wearing a tartan, as I've said before, citing Catholic school girl trauma - she seems to be much more comfortable with contemporary kilts, but my plans to get another one have been waylaid, by the need to do the IRS thing, and I'm switching jobs, so pennies might be a bit tight in the near future. Good news is, I can be kilted at the other job, too, if I'm not like to be involved in a full-blown restraint.

Just get her to go with you to the mall or something, you in your kilt and her on your arm, to see what kinds of reactions you get, and maybe she will realize that people like to see men in kilts.

Sorry, Doomsday, but if my man gets the usual reaction from the ladies about kilted men, he will not be going out in a kilt without me. This is no way to get me to approve my husband being kilted. LOLOLOL
