I agree.
I have been around the punk/goth/alternative/metal scene since late 80's and we didn't have hot topic back then. We had to make our own stuff. We frequented thrift stores, custom shops, hardware stores and various clothing stores to get inspired. It was like a treasure hunt. Without influence of the internet, we had to rely on our imagination to design our own outfit.
I am in the process in converting a cheap Pakistani kilt for a friend. I like doing that kind of mod because I can raid my tool box and shop at Home Depot. The finish kilt should have chains, studs, and uses a green ammo bag for storage.

Haha, yeah! It's like the kids who wear Hot Topic "anarchy" patches. I just laugh and ask them, "You realize that the sales tax on that goes to the government, right?"
Punk is all about DIY. I respect them for that. But since them, it has gotten severly off-track.

I think the only thing I've ever gotten at hot topic was henna for the native guys to do their tattoos in, since they all needed to still be employable when the event was over and facial tattoos don't fly with most employers.

I have seen these kilts up close and I don't think the material is half bad. They are pretty much like the inexpensive jeans that most people buy these. Don't even try to deny the fact that you have never bought any cheap shorts or pants in the past.
These kilts are made for the purpose of fashion and they can easily over look the quality. Also, not every one like the stuffy look of the traditional looking kilts that most of us wear.....
Raphael, thank you so much for your post. I actually have the all black version of that Tripp kilt, and I really like it too.
In case anybody missed it in the previous thread, here's me wearing it.

the shirt i'm wearing in that picture has a big modern gun screened on the front of it, I thought it may not be appropriate for the forum.
