That'd be scary, when it gets physical. (There's just no need, isn't there?)
Yes, I was outnumbered and don't have wrestling skills. I did take jiujitsu more than a decade ago but it's all gone now.

Thanks H. Let me know when you come visit DC.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I've had a few problems when out. I pretty much blow them off. I used to go to my children's schools on Tartan Day with a reenactor friend to teach Scottish history and how it was intertwined with the U.S. Invariably we would get the skirt comments from one particular culture group. Unfortunately, it is something you will hear from time-to-time. The good news,...the more they see us in kilts the faster they will learn it's cool to be in a kilt.

I feel your pain as well. As I have chosen to be kilted as much as I can, and having a job (and a wife) that lets me as much as I like is a big help. However the town in wich I work and live is somewhat close minded I get the daily "nice skirt". But latley I have gotten alot of positive's as well, wich I feel one poitive kills 5 bad comments. Just think to yorself...how would this guy look to his friends if he got his **** handed to him by a guy in a "Skirt", this always makes me smile and move on.

    meinfs,

Congrats on handling a bad situation in a positive manner. Keep it up! Coming from a relatively small town with alot of good ole' boys, I am somewhat self-conscious when kilted. But it's usually just strange looks and laughs from teenagers. One time last year, I was stopping at the Smoker Friendly and there were 3 rough looking characters (You might call 'em rednecks) putting a case of beer in their pick-up truck. I thought to myself "here we go." But to my surprise, they just nodded to me as I walked into the store. When I came out they were still there and one of the gents said "Roddy Piper." I must have looked at him strange and he explained "Yea, Roddy Piper. He used to wear one of those." I said "Yes, Rowdy Roddy, yes he did." To this he said "more power to ya." I said "have a good one" and we just waved and went our own ways.

You know, I've been here about a week without seeing him mentioned, was wondering if he was taboo.

Yeah, as a wrestler who's wearing a kilt, I'm always fighting off comparisons to Piper. He was just about my favorite wrestler up until late last year, when he screwed over a bunch of fans at my promotion, and since then he's left a bitter taste in my mouth.

No denying his talent or ability to entertain, though.

I didn't even know he was still around. I stopped watching when they stopped trying to hide it being fake.

    Rowdy Aliens

I don't much remember him wrestling, but "They Live" is a great guilty pleasure to watch to this day!
