The last time I was there--many years ago--we still had to get out of the car to go up to the old house where her uncle lived in case the car went over the edge. Arkansas highlanders, you might say. My mother never did get used to that.
I'm sure you're not so unsophiticated as my forebears, but my point is that I know your area, and I love it. I certainly hope you find a home here.
Slainte.
I live in the Eureka Springs area not so very far from Harrison. If I denied hillbilly blood, it would be a falsehood. Sounds like your grandmother lived in a good place - nice and secluded.
Speaking of Arkansas highlanders... The mascot of the local high school is the "Eureka Springs Highlanders." The middle school is the "Celtic Dragons." The elementary school is the "Scotties." Scotland connections everywhere.
Thanks to you and everyone for the warm welcome.

Howdy and welcome!
My mother lives in Harrison and works at the library. One of her friends that also works there is really involved in the Irish side of ceildh dancing. Surely if you were to contact the library - they could guide you to any Celtic events that are about.
Hopefully, I will get to Harrison over the Christmas holidaze...ya'll let me know if there is a Kilt Night in the works for that time....
Thanx!
