Good on you, Mael. But, management probably didn't bother you b/c they had to huddle in conference to figure out what to do with you.

Just for fun, consider a kilter IT person on a construction job. One of the managers remarked that I had on questions about my masculinity. He was correct.
The women did the usual, what's under the kilt.
answer: consider your own choices. That worked well enough.
The boss said' "don't go into the field". I was out at one it the three field offices an hour and a half later because it was required. There was no issues on that trip to thw field. It all depends on how you the wearer carry the kilt off.
It looks like you carried it off very well.

I too wish they dressed that way. What bothers me most is the way the customers dress (or rather don't)!
I've never seen anyone else in kilts in Walmart here in Spokane. Got a few positive comments, but that's all.

Looks great, and good on you for being brave enough just to give it a shot!

Heck, if anyone complains, just turn around and take down a piece of merchandise and show them how it works. In your department, no complaints.

I work at Wally World, too. As far as I can remember, there's nothing really in the dress code beyond blue top and khaki bottoms.

My favorite answer that I've heard to the question, "What's worn under the kilt?" is "Nothin' lassie. Everything is in fine working order!"

Just curious about follow through. Any further action on the Walmart front?
Have you been kilted again? Any "discussion" from management?

I kilt up when I have a Scottish event (holiday or place to go before or after work). It's always in the Walmart uniform colors; so I wear my kaki Buzz Kidder Kilt. My current manager screws up his face when he sees me, but has not commented. I would describe management's attitude between acceptance and tolerance. It does get a fair share of postive comments from customers and fellow associates. Many times customers mistake the Buzz Kidder for a Utilikilt. I get asked every time when they can get one. I have my "Clan" card that has the XMarks URL that I give them.

I hadn't yet joined XMarks when you started this thread. I'm late to the party, but I'd still like to say, Well Done, sir.
