Kilted in walmart
I went to walmart today in my kilt. It was a black watch sport kilt. Well I was just walking around and I was picking up some stuff in the lunch meat section for lunches this week. I turned around and their was this redneck guy head to toe in dickies camo. He said "I really like your kilt" Now I wasn't really sure if he was being genuine or facetious. So I said thank you then he shook my hand and said "Buchanan". So at that point I knew he was being genuine. I told him I have a suspicion I have Scottish blood far back in my history, but I could not prove it. So we talked about clans and how I think with my last name of Baxter I would be in the clan Macmillan. We shook hands and he headed off and I finished shopping.
This was the first time I ever had someone stop me and complement me on my kilt. So when he walked up I kinda got a little worried. It was very nice to have someone notice and think it was cool especially someone who I would have never expected to wear a kilt. I think I just shows the kilt appeals to all people.

No one has ever given me a problem at Walmart when I wear the kilt. People have asked about it or said they like it, though.
A nice, young man who works at the sandwich shop even said he has a kilt too. So, glad it went well.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Only had 1 negative thing at walmart, and it was so minor that it doesn't count. But the positive at Wal-mart..... Can almost blow the mind.

Been my experience that the biggest, meanest looking guys are the ones quick with the appreciation and compliments. Go figure.
