Another statue - Boy with a Goat.

A view of Håkon VII's Gate. Named after the first King of Norway when it became independent from Sweden, he was the grandfather of the Present King.

Lovely old shop building.

And now confession time - shock horror! I wasn't kilted in Stavanger! I do like to wear shorts sometimes in hot weather. I assure you I changed into a kilt for the evening.

And back on board and ready for departure, we saw these Norwegian football fans heading for their coach.

Goodbye Stavanger, ha det bra til vi ses igjen!

The following morning saw us docking in Bergen, Norway's second city.
Bergen has a reputation of being one of the wettest places in Norway and indeed it was wet and cloud covered to being with.
The Boudicca was not the only Fred Olden line ship there that day - here is the wonderfully named Black Watch.

And a couple of shots looking toward the city centre - you can see how steep the surrounding mountains are.

And some of the buildings across the harbour (known as Vågen) on the Nordnes Peninsula.

Once off the ship, another view across Vågen.

And looking up the Bergen Fjord.

The Rosenkrantz Tower - makes you wonder about a Gildenstern one! (Joke for Hamlet afficianados.)

Sheltering from the rain!

I love this shot a lot - the old Hanseatic Buildings on Bryggen in the rain.
