One of my kilts has belt loops, but I tend to forget that they are there.

i guess for those horizontally challenged men there useless but some folk like myself do tend to need them and will continue to use them whether they be traditional or not doesn't really matter

I think your thinking of the lower strap on the right hand side not an aditional belt loop.

I also remove the third strap if there is one. I add it to the two above so I can have a bigger range of fit. See picture for more details

It would seem funny to have belt loops and not put your belt through them. Personally, I put the belt on first then the sporran strap. I do not use a chain on my sporran, although most come with one. Too much danger of damaging the kilt fabric. My strap is black leather, about an inch wide, and has a buckle on the back to adjust length.

both of my Feileadh Mor/"great kilts DO have belt loops, that i put there to hold my sporran strap - but this is not an option the poll

I don't have any kilts that even have belt loops, so I voted don't use them at all.
