I understand Brad's concerns here. I'm sure the Jr. Sea Cadets have regulations on how the uniform, or items of the uniform may be worn. I would look into that before putting together the outfit. One good way to run afoul of senior officers is to show a blatant disregard for the regulations.

ANY time you wear anything that represents the military IS a military function. When you are in the military ANYTHING you do reflects on the military.

No apologies needed. I understand what you are saying, I was just pointing out a fact that most tend to forget. Any organization is judged by how the members act, even if the member has been out of the organization for years. Watch the headlines and you will see "Ex Police Officer", "Ex Marine", Ex firefighter" etc. used when a former member does something wrong.
