This is my first! I was afraid I'd not like it because of very mixed reviews, but I LOVE the flavor. It's hard to explain to people who don't drink Scotch... it usually turns up noses when you say "It tastes like a combination of old, rich, damp dirt and burned firewood." 😁

Much obliged. The Dalmore is one of my favorites, obviously.

    An apt description, though.

wow .... if we're all in the same place at the same time we're gonna need a case ... Slàinte mhath and old, rich, damp dirt and burned firewood in your glass .
I drink to the health of another,
And the other I drink to is he -
In the hope that he drinks to another,
And the other he drinks to is me!

My mother passed away over three weeks ago and we had her memorial two weeks ago Sunday. My whole family with the exception of my eldest son were there and we had one long afternoon and evening together at my pop's house. Before driving there for the weekend, I picked up a bottle of Glen Moray 16 for a relative song, feeling the need for a new breath after my mom's long medical decline over the last year or so. The Glen Moray 16 fit the bill, for myself, the wife, my sister-in-law and my brother, my sister and my brother in law, and my neice's live in boyfriend. And for my father too, but just a tad. She did the job so well we drained the bottle in about two hours, and sat around with happy smiles remembering my mom in all sorts of funny anecdotes. I think the whisky definitely helped the evening, but that was because it was good in its own right and because the stories were for the most part true.

The Glen Moray 16 had a rich color, full mouth of flavor, rounded without any medicine iodine taste, touch of smoke but light on the peat, not frankly fruity or wine infused, just a good rich medium bodied whisky, with just a tetch of a bite on the finish. Wish I had bought a second bottle. Well, I guess I will soon.

Will be in the flask at my sons upcoming wedding. I bought this in 1995 with the intent to open it when my son got married, it's from a distillery that used to be in my hometown of Falkirk

    Apologies for the orientation

Sorry for your recent loss. I count the Glen Moray as one of my favorites. I also like its decorative canister.

Jeff, I'll second Jack Daw. Condolences on your mother's passing. I'll raise a dram in her memory this weekend.
