It seems as if the Rabble at large missed a great gathering!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Thanks to all of you for sharing this wonderful fun time! At least the rest of us get to enjoy it vicariously.

I fear the flooding of Loch Metropolis as the tears I shed for missing this event are causing it to rise......LOL
Glad to see that all had a great time.

Looks like you all had a great day. Question,...Is Palm Springs still standing?

Glad to hear that Hamish had a good time; sounds wonderful.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

How delightful -and yes - Hamish is quite correct to avoid hats, especially those of the straw variety.

Actually, as we were traveling down, we encountered a horrendous windstorm in the high desert. It pushed us towards Palm Springs with tail winds of 65 to 70 miles per hour (it also broke the hinge on my car door when we got out for that Joshua tree picture). Trees, power lines and various debris were spread all over town when we arrived.
All because "The Powers That Be" wanted to ensure we arrived quickly, I'm sure.
Be well,
