Oh, my. I was afraid that was the case.
However, if my lottery ticket hits, I'm good for a ticket for you. and if Jock can't travel, I'll go to the Highlands to collect on my wger. (Or pay up, as the case may be!)

So far, it's me, MoR, piperdbh, davidlpope (?), Tartan Hiker, and Zardoz if he's up to the drive. (Zardoz, I'll buy you a drink, too, if you drive that far. Might even pop for some haggis or something.) And there are a bunch of other guys who've been somewhat AWOL lately who live over that way: nixphotography and others come to mind.
I think this'll be a lot of fun, especially when I get that picture of Edward and me in the bonnie knees contest!
I've got it on the calender, we'll see! Bad thing about unemployment, I have the time to do it, but likely won't have the money! If I do make it, the offer of a dram and some haggis (and maybe a place to sleep!) would be very welcome!
If I had any money to spare though, I'd wager against Prince Edward wearing a kilt there.
BTW, I got a lottery ticket today !

Count me in. I hope the weather is not as hot as the past years I've been...

I am sure HRH will be more than happy to roll up his trouser leg to compare knees.

I can see that the only way to solve this quandary of drink is to ensure that all three are represented.
As the only hierarchical title I possess is "squire" , I suggest a "single barrel" bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey be on hand, along with a good bourbon (I enjoy Basil Hayden's and Blanton's, among others), and let Jock pick the scotch!
Once you've had enough, I'm sure you'll all be ready to try and compare knees with the RH ...

I never leave home without at least a flask of Jack's Single Barrel.

I went to the Greenville Scottish Games a few years ago, maybe their first?
It was HOT. Very hot.
I bet Prince Edward wears a kilt. The only question is which tartan?
Beautiful setting. Too hot.
Might go, might not. :-)

Julie, Greenville (and indeed, much of the south) suffered unusually high temperatures for three or four years in a row. Last year the temperature at the Greenville Scottish Games stayed in the low to mid 80s. This year, the Games have been moved up to the Memorial Day Weekend, where historically the temperature hovers in the high 70s to low 80s. No one can predict the weather (or whether HRH will wear a kilt) but I can predict that those attending the Greenville Scottish Games should have a great weekend!

OK, it's time to bump this thread.
What pub gets our business on Friday night, and where do we meet on Saturday? These are important questions to ponder, and I don't know the pubs in Greenville.
We're planning to being there in the afternoon, check into where ever we are staying, go to the parade, and then meet at what ever local extablishment the locals recommend.
Who's planning all this ayway? I do my part in October for Stone Mountain, but Greenvile is off my beaten path.

We'll be there Saturday, and I'd also like to know when & where to meet up.
I hope it's as cool that weekend as it was today, with highs close to 70 F.
