animal pelt sporrans
I don't know the full story on this yet but Rocky was wearing the coolest sporran last night. It was made from a badger pelt, top to bottom. The flap was the ol' badgers face.
Kelly said something about having a few for selling at the festival this weekend but I either didn't ask much more or don't remember due to all of the carbombs.
So the candy man has struck again. Now I'm coveting the animal pelt sporrans. The badger is really cool but I got something else in mind. 8)

Face sporrans are readily available on the net made from various critters, from badgers, to fox to skunks. They do tend to be a bit pricey.

www.sporrans.com has some really interesting full face sporrans. I personnaly like the raccoon, as he looks like he is happy to be a sporran.
If I felt like I could afford and pull off a full face mask sporran, I would easily go for the Canadian Lynx

You could just buy the pelts and make your own sporran. I'm considering doing just that. Get a head on pelt, put in the taxidernist glas eyes, and sew it up.

I did that with a raccoon pelt. The result looks rather more rustic than the commercial ones, but it has received quite a few compliments. Also, as a DIY effort I could be sure it had a useful capacity. Don't recall what I paid for the pelt, but it was far cheaper than a commercial sporran of this sort.

Awhile back someone posted a URL for a place that had pelts along with a bunch of other stuff, but I lost it. I do recall their prices were pretty good. If anyone remembers it I'd like to have it again.

Well, I threatened my girlfriend's dog with turning him into a sporran if he ate any more computer equipment...He's mostly Jack Russell Terrier, so I think he'd look good, but then he gives me that cute little puppy dog stare. <Sigh> I guess we'll just have to see what he eats next. But seriously, if anyone manages to make his own full mask sporran, please put up some pics and hints as I would really like to follow in their footsteps.

I've had some customer service issues with Craigie. I don't think she was being very honest with me about shipping schedules, and in fact I think she forgot about me. She told me something had already been shipped to me but the postmark on the package showed that she didn't ship it until after my call. That sort of dishonesty doesn't sit well with me. I'm very reluctant to buy anything from her again.

Weiner dog! Ha! A man after my own heart.
I was just saying to one of the boys today that I'd take one if it came in collie.
But since it's probably illegal, I'd settle for skunk.
