what color hose
I am about to order my irish kilt in mayo county tartan and i was wondering what color hose would look good with that tartan, a green maybe?

I would suggest a Lovat Green, which is similar to Sage Green, or Oatmeal hose.
You've chosen a grand tartan!

I wear Oatmeal or Beige kilt hose 99% of the time since it seems to suit virtually any tartan (and most plain) kilts in my "Kollection".
Unfortunately, I cannot visualise the Mayo County tartan off the top of my head. Three of the on-line Tartan Search facilities I have bookmarked cannot trace it (!) and it does not feature in any of my books - but I'm sure you'd be fine with Oatmeal or Beige!
At the eleventh hour, good old Google comes up trumps, however, with:
and I stick with what I have stated above!

Same here, Hamish! And I agree with your thought that Oatmeal would look the best, even over Lovat Green. Imagine that with an Arran Island sweater! :mrgreen:

What Hamish? No cream or off white hose? I thought it was compulsory!!!

Actually, I do have cream, off-white and pure white hose, but I wear it only when I want to look like everyone else!
