    A Kilted Eulogy

Yesterday I attended my Grandpa's funeral. In his will he asked that his grandchildren give his eulogy, so my brother and I were assigned the task. I didn't think there was any more perfect garment for this than the kilt because 2 days before he passed away I visited him in the hospital and he politely pointed out that he would prefer that next time I visited I should don the kilt. But low and behold I didn't have a jacket....(in fact I don't have dress pants or a jacket or anything.)So at first I thought that I could maybe convert a regular day jacket by shortening it, so I headed to the local thriftys to find a jacket that served my budget well. And there is where I found a beautiful short tuxedo jacket that looked spectacular with a kilt - for only $8 CDN!! It looks brand new! Anyways, I looked real sharp for my Grandpa's funeral and I'm sure he probably had something to do with me finding such a perfect jacket.

My thoughts go out for you and yours. I'm sure that your Grandfather was only too happy to assist you in your search for the jacket, as well as seeing his grandson in a kilt. Stay safe

Matt, My condolences to you and your family. It warms my heart that you were able to honor your grandfather in this way. No doubt your tribute will be long remembered by those able to attend.

Life is too short not to really enjoy it. It sounds as if your Grandpa knew that you were enjoying life and wanted you to share it with him all the way to the end. Sounds as if you gave him a great farewell.

My heart goes out to you at this time.
