How did Graham attach his picture to his post about the wedding. Every time I enter 'post new thread' I don't have any attachment options. It says at the bottom of the page img .. on but then it also says .. you may not post attachments. Do I have to switch something on somewhere.

You'll have to host the picture on a website, once you've done that, take the link to the picture, and put it in where I put the example exit. Also, don't include the asteriks, as I have.
