Kiltchecks by the dozen

The office building where I work happens to be on a major bus route through the downtown. When I'm standing outside, satisfying the nicotine craving, I can't help but notice the 'kilt checks' from the transit riders.

I often wave, and sometimes salute (which hurts becase I've forgotten about the lit cigarette), which causes a collective 'eyes front'.

It's a real treat to see a baker's dozen, when the bus driver does the check, too. So far, I have not contributed to any traffic accidents.

A kilt check is when somebody sticks their hand under your kilt to see if you are wearing underpants. :razz:

Dreadbelly is right. Though a kilt check can also be a lift, or a shoe with a mirror attached. It's an invasive process of checking to see if there's anything under your kilt besides hose & brogues.

Sounds like you get lots of looks. Watch the burns though. That can't feel good on your forhead.

The one night I wore a kilt to the bar the attention was amazing. I need to get one of my own so I can do it regularly. Mom wasn't quite sure about it when I wore it to dinner and the looks were mixed when I went around town in it, but I really liked it. I bet if a few of us got together we could stop traffic.

Aye. I haven't even met some of these guys yet. It's going to be insane when that finally happens. I've got experiences similar to these pictures but I don't get pics of it. :-D
