    Hey Shay, just for curiosity

What about a peep at your price list and some photos of your work.

The kilt wearing public wants to know.

I don't have a price list, I have photos but they're not very good, owing to my crappy camera. Right now I'm just working out designs, hashing out ideas, and making them for friends and colleages as I do so. I find I work better with an end point in mind than if I were to make generic 'samples' for showing off.

    Thanks for the thought, though.

If you were to take a few photos with a disposable camera, I believe that Wal*Mart can scan then onto a disk for you. Just a thought.

Oh, I'm aware, but my digital camera works well enough so far, and I have friends who are professional phtogs (who laugh at my camera) who would happily take magazine-quality picks should I really need them.

No offense intended, but if you are going to make kilts for a business, you really need them.

Tell me about current designs and fabric availability.

None taken- but I'm not doing it as a business right now so much as a hobby! Right now I'm working on a cord to try out the fabric that I'm sending to sav, then I've got the green fabric that I'm going to try box pleats on (nice geometric patterns) if Dreadbelly's still into it...and after that my husband wants a gray twill, but wants to look at the other two first to see what kind he likes better. Right now that's all I want on my plate.

I'm really trying to make more inexpensive casual kilts, so fabric is whatever is requested or I have on hand and go from there- the one I sold I sold for $60 including shipping, and it was wrinkle-resistant twill in which the fabric cost over $30 full price*- so far may favorite fabric, though. It took me about 6 hours all told to plan it out and sew it.

I don't want to work with tartans, I have too much respect for them to go machine-sewing them into a knockaround kilt that's really a beginner's model. So until I get a pattern and method I'm happy with that I feel charging 30-50 bucks American isn't shorting myself, I'm still thinking of myself as a kilt hobbyist, not a professional kiltmaker. It's a goal, but not one I expect to hit right away.

    *I had a coupon though.
