My new Welsh Cilt
As many will be aware, a few weeks ago I spent a superb weekend in the Cardiff area of Wales as guest of Derek (our renowned cilt wearer) and his lovely wife, Elaine .
Apart from attending one of the hugely enjoyable Ceilidhs they regularly organise, and have them put on a surprise party (well, it was a wonderful surprise to me!), I managed to collect the Welsh cilt I had previously ordered on-line from the Wales Tartan Centre in Cardiff.
I have to confess to opting for the less expensive 4½ yard leisure cilt in polyviscose, rather than the 8 yard traditional in wool but, with its gilt cilt pin and embroidered red dragon/St. David's cross emblem, this fine cilt is a very welcome addition to my 'Kilt Kollection'.
The unusual tartan is the Brithwe Dewi Sant (St. David's Tartan) or the Welsh National Tartan. Here's a photo:
