I wanted to drop a line and introduce myself to the rest of the site. My name is Jay, and I love kilts.

I began researching my paternal family tree back in middle school - I'm in my late 30s now. I've traced the family back to Selkirk.

My last opportunity to wear a kilt was at my younger brother's wedding in California several years ago. The withdrawl is killing me.

My wife put the cabbash on a traditional Scottish wedding, or even me just wearing a kilt (that was over 12 years ago). But, she has since more fully embraced my family heritage while learning more abour her own.

Anyway, I've started my first bit of research into having my own kilt made. I've been looking at kilts made by Matt Newsome. I'm looking forward to jumping into this with both.

I'm glad I found this site.

Welcome from a neighbor to the west, and a wee bit north!

One of the biggest things you will learn is how MUCH of your time these forums can take if you are not careful!

Glad to see a few from the midwest.

I love Chicago - a lot of my college buddies live there. and, I used to live in Troy, OH, so I know right where Dayton is; and Columbus is a right nice spot too. And good 'ole Lafayette, Indiana.
