    Kilt night Buffalo

Hosehead and I will be in Buffalo December 9th to 11th, and were thinking of going to Darcy McGee's with our wives, on (or near) Chippewa on December 10th around 9:00 or so. If anyone would like to join us that would be great, we both plan to be kilted (as if there was a question of that).

I guess we will find out if the mitten theory works in cold and snowy Buffalo.

Hope to see you all there.

Sounds like a plan. A bit far off to say "yes" or "no" but I'll pencil it in.

    Mitten theory

As mentioned in this thread http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...8&page=1&pp=10

The beauty of a kilt is it's like mitts rather than gloves. The skin to skin contact actually keeps you warm, but if you isolate like gloves or pants you get cold. I
As you can imagine since I am originally from Buffalo, and spend thanksgiving and Christmas there a thread called Kilting in the cold really caught my eye.

i'm originally from Buffalo too, but I havent been back in several years. I dont see going back anytime soon either, but there are a lot of Irish Pubs especially in the old First Ward and South Buffalo.

Its not a place I can see kilts being too readily accepted though, not that I give a damn.

If I'm not working nights, I'll try and make it.
Chippewa ... hmm, I can't wear a kilt at work, so that might the first time some of my co-workers will see me in a kilt ... ought to make Monday the 12th interesting. ;)

    South Buffalo

I will let you know how the kilt is accepted in South Buffalo eventually. My wife is from there, so I assume I will be out and about kilted in the neighborhood at some point.

Thought I would "bump" this thread up again, in case some more people might be interested in attending.

    Still happening

Well it has been in planning for quite a while, but Buffalo Kilt night is finally just over a week away. Just wanted to see how many people would be coming out

    I am planning on it.

Are we eating dinner? There's quite a menu there.

Is this formal? Are we going in Prince Charlies?

    Formal??

I wasn't planning on going formal, but I am up for it if everyone else is. I will be wearing a Scotish National USA casual, so I certainly can wear it as I did for Hoseheads wedding. I know my wife will be wearing jeans though.

We probably will not be eating there as my DW's birthday is Thursday and her mom is making us a birthday meal. Hosehead are you planning on eating there, I can vouch for how good the food is there.

But it should be a great time!
