    Well, I bought another kilt.

Didn't really mean to. I had been wanting an inexpensive Irish National tartan kilt for St. Patrick's Day, Irish festivals and the occasional visit to an Irish pub.

Saw this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 on eBay, left the minimum bid and figured I'd get outbid for it. I didn't.

I'm under no illusions that it will approach the quality of my handsewn woolen tank, but I think it will serve the purpose for which I bought it.

I'll post pics when it arrives and maybe debut it at the next Binghamton kilt night.

One thing that I have learned on the board here is that we wear kilts for all occasions. We also wear kilts of various amounts of quality to fit those occasions. Glad to see a new kilt in anyones "Kollection" Congratulations

Thanks, guys. I had wanted to get a Stillwater standard, but they're not currently making them in the Irish National tartan. I emailed them and asked about it, and they said they had trouble getting the fabric.

So, for about the same price, I'll try this.

    You're a braver man than I sir.

I get so much phishing spam from ebay already, and don't even have an account there...my account needs to be verified, will be closed, etc. that I've just stayed away from ever doing business there.

The Irish National is a sharp looking tartan, hope it comes reasonably well made even for the bargain price.

The phishing stuff does not come from eBay. It's just spam like any other. Having an eBay account does not increase your chances of getting it. I've gotten it, too, on email accounts that are not regtistered at eBay.

I have used eBay for over 60 transactions without a problem. I've gotten most of my kilt accessories there. This will be the first kilt, but the seller's feedback rating is excellent, so I'm willing to chance $65.

I followed your link and decided to check out the rest of what they had. It looks like they may have an on-going sale on 16 oz. 5 yard PV casuals for around $43. I made a bid on a 24 hr. auction that had 18 different tartans listed as options; after it closed, I found the same sale started all over again.

Here's the current sale, and if it's closed already, you'll probably find it open somewhere on this page.
