Howdy from Texas!
Hello everyone! I'm new to the board, but have been lurking for a while. After many years of thinking about wearing kilts, I jumped in about 6 months ago. I got started cheap with a couple of Sport Kilts, (my wife calls them "training kilts") but after being exposed to proper traditional kilts out and about around home and on the web, I'm saving up to get a "real" made to order kilt soon! I'm learning quite a bit from this site, and I just wanted to join in!

Run now, exposure here has been more troublesome than avian flu!
Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the board, Zardoz. You'll like it here. BTW, great movie, with Charlotte Rampling (oh, be still my racing heart!).

Welcome!
From one newbie to another, I never understood how good the kilted ones had it!
Now after a few months of kilted bliss (at least as much as possible so far) I've seen the light, (and felt the breeze!)

Welcome Zardoz! You have some good company down there in TX, although not being up on my geography, I am not sure how close they are to you. If they are, they will surely chime in.

Thanks for the welcomes!
I post as Zardoz on 3 or 4 different forums for varied pursuits, and it never fails! Someone has seen that damn movie!
I figure there are plenty of kilted folks around the Houston area, I run into them from time to time, but generaly only at concerts, Celtic events, the Renassance Fest, or Dickens on the Strand in Galveston (next weekend!).
I can't recall when I have seen somebody kilted just out and about, although I am as often as I can, basically whenever I'm not at work. I get the feeling that if the amount of media and web coverage of kilts is any indicator, we may be seeing more and more though!
