Getting an Xmarks kilt made
I would like to ask the kilt makers that are on the board how much it would cost to get a kilt made up in fabric that we order. I was thinking about getting 5 meters (since the order will go in spring), and get a kilt or two made. I am planning on getting one from Matt his web site states he will make it up for $220.
I wonder about other kilt makers as well Rocky, Bear, MacHummel, Barb T do you do such a tasks?
How much would it be for both 4 meter, and 8 yarders?
How much fabric should be ordered?
Would it be possible to get flashes as well, and what would the cost?
Non-kilt makers who have you worked with to get something like this done?
Just a little research, and a helping aid to find out how much to save?
Thank you all for letting us know.

I know I've already PMed you my info, but I thought I'd post it here for others.
For 4-yard traditional box-pleated kilts, if you supply the cloth (from the bulk X Marks order) my tailoring fee is $220.
If you don't want to wait for that, and want me to order the cloth for you (in 16 oz wool), then the total cost would be $480.
My info is in my sig file.
Aye,
Matt

Hey Keith,
I already replied to your email, but I'll answer it here too in case anyone else wants to know...
We've started making a 5 yard (approx) wool kilt that is not on our website yet... basically, it's made the EXACT same way as our Semi Traditional, but in wool. The tailoring fee (if you provide the material) is going to be $175. It's a completely different animal from Matt's 4 yard box pleated kilts. If you'd like to know how much material you'll need, drop me an email and I'll let you know. Most likely, you'll need 2.5 yards, but that may change if you're bigger or smaller than average.
We can also do custom flash to match... they're $20 when the material is supplied.
