    Kiltmart on Ebay...any experience?

I'm looking to by THIS SPORRAN from Kiltmart on Ebay, but am wondering if anyone has had any dealings or has heard anything in regards to quality, etc. This sporran is certainly within my budget, but I'm just wondering how good it is. It looks a lot like similar sporrans I've seen for twice as much.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

I was going to order a Irish Nat. kilt but they lost the order. Good thing because I later found Stillwater. I do like their sporrans though.lol

Doesn't stillwater have a selection of sporrans as well. I can't say that I have heard any good feedback about Kiltmart, but I have heard not so good feedback. At least with Stillwater you would be dealing with a reputable company.

It might be worth the email to them to see what they have.

You may also want to check out Sport Kilt. While I have heard mixed reviews on their kilts, I have not heard anything about their sporrans, and they seem to have a good selection. http://www.sportkilt.com/accessories_list.cfm?cat=240

Picked up something from them but can't recall what. Experience was OK - no problems.

As to that sporran: saw some just like it at Piper's Cove in NJ a couple of weeks ago. Not certain but I think they were sending their lot back the vendor. Appears that the stitching for the top flap (with thistle) that connects to the body of the sporran dies a quick death. Disappointing because they weren't expensive and one would have been a good semi-dress choice. But based on what I saw my advice is "walk away."

Well, prior to anyone responding, I decided to go ahead and order the sporran (I'm impatient). I'll let you guys know how the experience goes, and what the quality is like. Thanks for the input, though.

    Hey Brian,

Check out the kilt review board, there's a long post there on their kilts.

I have the Sportkilt green maltese cross sporran and love it. It's my every-day sporran and always draws compliments. It's very rugged and stands up to all sorts of abuse without any signs of pre-mature wear and tear - even when my dog decides it makes the perfect stepping stone on her way to give me kissies!

But the price sure has gone up since I bought mine back in March!

    Ok...I received my sporran today.

I only have time for a real quick review:

    Don't buy one.

The transaction went smoothly, and I received the product in a very timely fashion, but it really isn't worth much. It will do for as much as I will probably need it, though.

I'll write more about it soon.
