I was involved in a discussion on a local motorcyle forum yesterday about what we were doing with our recent "Prosperity" cheques. I'd mentioned that I'd bought 3 new kilts. One of the guys commented about how could that be possible, as the cheques were only $400. I explained about Utilikilts and Stillwater and the other budget kilt companies. He replied with "Cool! I've always wanted a kilt but wasn't prepared to spend over $500 to get one". While I doubt that he would ever wear it as casually as some of us do, at least he'd be another Calgarian in a kilt! I'll let you know how it turns out.
Stillwater, Utilikilts, and Amerikilts are really making it possible for men that are not prepared to spend $500 to get a kilt to get into kilt wearing. I think they are a very important segment of the kilt sellers, and are responsible for more men wearing kilts today. I don't own a $500 kilt. I plan to get 1 or 2 taylor mades sometime in the future, but I know that I will be very careful with those kilts as to where I wear them, and what type of activities I engage in. Darrell
