L.A. Irish Fair
I just wanted to post a reminder for those in the Los Angeles/Orange County area that the LA Irish Fair will be next weekend.
March 11th and 12th at the Pomona Fairplex, right off the 57 and 210 freeways.
http://www.la-irishfair.com/2006/Home.htm
In addition to lots of music, food, and vendors there will also be Scottish Heavy Events. I will be there on Saturday with my friends competing in the Mens "C" class events.
Also, that Sunday (the 12th) at Muldoons Irish Pub in Fashion Island there will be a sexiest kilt contest at noon. Iolaus, you are NOT allowed to compete, as I fully intend to enter and win this year!

Are you going to wear your Nightstalker? ...or one of your UKs?

Its a toss up between the leather UK and the Nightstalker.
The nightstalker has the newness factor going for it, plus its a gorgeous tartan. However the leather, well, its leather.

Sorry I didn't make it to either event, my wife's been sick, and I stayed home to pamper her.

I didnt go to Muldoons, as the kilt I was going to wear got muddy and dirty on Saturday and I didnt want to drive all the way back to Costa Mesa for the leather one.
The Irish Fair was a blast though, I competed all day Saturday and went back on Sunday to look around and shop. (got a great sterling silver Eagle Globe & Anchor kilt pin)
I took the silver medal in two events, open stone and braemar stone. I did pretty well in all the events too, though no one threw that great with the weather. It not only rained, but also hailed on us quite frequently. I dont think the temperature ever got above 50 degrees.
The Stillwater held up wonderfully though. It kept me warm the whole day long, even in the rain. It got a little muddy from splashback on the thown implements, but a little spot cleaning should take care of that. And the pleats held up even after being subjected to being rolled up and stuffed in my bag as I changed into a UK after the event. I think I'll need to re-iron one pleat, but thats it. It really handled the weather perfectly.

I made it out there today. Drove down from Ventura. Thought about going yesterday, but figgered it was probably a bit wet. From what I heard, it was painfully cold and wet on Saturday, with hardly anyone attending. Folks were saying today was busy, yet it too seemed rather sparse.
I went a bit different and wore my green camo UK. Got a few fun comments. Spent most of my time split between listening to The American Wake and helping the guys at the UK booth. Oh, and trying to keep warm.
Regarding the band... thought they were great. Mentioned that they play fairly regularly at... Gallagher's (?) in Huntington Beach. I don't really do bars, but wouldn't mind getting down there for an evening.

I hope you gave a listen to Dublin 4 while you were there, they rock the place too.
Saturday was bitter cold, as long as I was moving it wasn't bad but after a while even that wasn't getting it. I did see Celtic Spring so I was happy.
CT - that lazy wind that goes through you instead of around

Hey Zz, Cameron, which guys were you?
I stopped by the UK booth several times on Sat and Sun to talk to Scott and Wolf.
Saturday I was wearing my SWK Nightstalker (and usually a grey sweatshirt and booney hat)
Sunday I was in my Choc Workmans, with the green SAAA shirt for the LA Irish Fair and a brown sweater underneath it.
